I've loved Katsionis's work since his days with Firewind. His Stray Gods album was a little too Miaden-sounding for me, but this album does the Queensryche/Fates Warning thing right. You can hear an influence, but it is its own entity that can stand alone and should be promoted more because everyone deserves to hear this!
